Countless articles and books have been written by authors like Catherine Ponder, Wayne Dyer, Deepak Chopra, Shakti Gawain and Jane Roberts that tell readers how to set their intention and create their own reality. Now you can participate in research to measure the effectiveness of using a simple manifesting technique.
The purpose of my research is to measure the effectiveness of incorporating a simple, daily manifesting program into the lives of participants. The control group will be asked to simply make a list of 20 things they would like to manifest in their lives. (See "list development" rules below.) The other group will make the list, but also practice 10 minutes of active manifesting daily for 30 days. At the end of the 30-day period, success rates for each group will be measured. This is an on-going research project for the next six months, but individual participants will only be involved for 30 days.
If you would be willing to participate in this research, the rules are very simple. Make a list from 1 through 20 of 20 items you would like to create in your life. (See "list development" rules following.) Put your participant number at the topic of the page. Your number consists of your birthday, listed like this: 11281957 (month-day-year), plus a gender code (01 = male, 02 = female), plus the last four digits in one of your phone numbers. (For example, mine would be
11281957020658.)
Now, to see if you are in the control group or the "technique" group, just add all the numbers individually. If you get an even number, you will be using the technique. If you get an odd number (like I did, 55) you are in the control group. Simply email your participant number and list of 20 items and the date you started the research to me at hypnotist@mooreinspire.com. Put the words "Manifesting Research" in the subject line.
For those in the "technique" group, send me your list like the control group did, but also follow this simple procedure. Once a day for NO MORE THAN 10 minutes, look over your list 3 times, then close your eyes and imagine you are sending your desire to attract the things on your list out into the Universe. The specifics of this process can be uniquely your own. During my own process, I imagine my energy flowing out the top of my head, almost like a plasma, and sending "feelers" out into the Universe. I also say words like, "Whatever guides or angels are out there now, please help bring my desires into reality. Thank you."
You can make the process more kinesthetic if you are an empathic type, or visual if you're like me, or sing a song or intone a mantra if you're auditory or use a combination of all your senses. My research is not about "copyrighting some technique." I think they all work. My research is about showing the power of intention and consistency. So do the technique for 30 days. NO MORE than 10 minutes per day. I don't want you to obsess about your desires, just state them lightly. But BE SURE to do this daily for 30 days. At the end of the 30 days, email me with your participant number and I'll send you back a simple form to show me how well you did with making your dreams come true.
When developing your list, please don't include things like "World Peace." That thought is very nice, but impractical to measure for the purposes of my research. Appropriate list items might be materialistic, like a new ____brand/model car or a new CD player. But don't list something that would be easy for you to go out and buy today. Things that you have been looking for but haven't found are good things to put on the list, as are ideas like: "lose 50 pounds," "Lower my blood pressure by 40 points," "make an A in physics." These are all things that are easy to measure, but require some effort. Things that you know you should do but haven't been able to MAKE yourself do, like "start back on a morning exercise program 4 times per week" are also good because something has to "shift" in your reality to make it happen. Be specific. List things that are easily quantifiable. Also, as things start to manifest, don't add anything new to your list until the 30 days are up. Only people who participate in for the full 30 days will be included in the research results. I will, however, run a tally of the percentage of drop-outs. It has been theorized by countless "self-help" gurus that consistency of stating intent is the KEY to achieving results. 10 minutes per day for 30 days. What have you got to lose?? For those in the control group, please don't do anything but write your 20 desires; then confirm the outcome at the end of 30 days.
